No story--or life--is without the grace and the weird luck of getting more--or
the chagrin of getting less--than we think we deserve. Sometimes we shake our
heads in relief, sometimes we smirk with sweet revenge, and sometimes we are
just plain satisfied, Sue and Becky and Jeannine will tell stories that trace
life's wondrous course.
Becky Holder ‘s repertoire encompasses world tales, literary stories and
personal memoir. Becky is a member of SweetLand Storytellers, an ensemble
which brings the art of storytelling to adult and high school audiences.
Jeannine Laverty’s school residencies and museum performances have been
awarded funding from the NYS Council on the Arts, the New York Foundation for the
Arts, and the National Institute for the Humanities. In 1999 she
received the Leadership Award for the Northeast Region from the National
Storytelling Network.
Susan Fantl Spivack, tells traditional stories from many cultures,
literary tales, oral histories and her own stories to audiences of all ages. With
SweetLand Storytellers, she brings "Voices of the Vietnam War," a program
of oral histories to adult and high school audiences. Free parking in the
